There will soon be a new way to pay for tickets to York Revolution games.

Fans will be able to use Bitcoin to pay beginning Monday. Bitcoin is essentially virtual money. It's rate changes on a supply and demand scale.

Santander Stadium teamed up with Crypto Coin Consulting, a local company in York, to implement the new way of paying.

While Bitcoin may seem intimidating, Revolution owner Eric Menzer feels it's the future of money exchange. "The reality is this is another step in the evolution of how commerce is done. We obviously had to adapt to the web-based ticket sales, now we're simply going to be adapting to electronic currency ticket sales," he explains.

Crypto Coin owner Joe Blanschan agrees. "It took 10 to 15 years for people to figure out what a computer was, how it worked and how to send email. Now with the last five years everyone has a Facebook, everyone has a Twitter, everyone text messages, everyone has a smart phone," he says.
