The City of Lebanon Authority Water Department has issued a boil water advisory for residents living in the area of Metro Drive and Meadow Drive in South Lebanon Township.

The boil water advisory was issued following a water main break on Monday morning. Less than a dozen customers are currently without water, while crews repair the break.

Residents reported the break around 6 a.m. after some of them received dirty water. Officials say the water system will be flushed on Monday afternoon once the water system is put back into service.

As a precaution, residents in the area are advised to boil their water for the next 48 hours.  The Authority must test the water for two consecutive days to check for bacteria before the boil water advisory can be lifted.

The residents who are affected were notified by rapid response phone messages. Boil water advisory issued for Lebanon following water main break
