HARRISBURG -- Capital Region Water is on the scene finishing repairs of a water main leak and sinkhole on Pigeon Street and the 1200 block of Magnolia Street.

According to a Capital Region Water spokesperson Andrew Bliss, crews were notified of a leak around 12:30 this morning and determined that customers' service was not affected.

Bliss told CBS 21 that the water main leak and sinkhole are not related to the collapse of the church on 12th and Magnolia Street but may be related to heavy equipment being used to demolish the building.

Capital Region Water was notified by demolition workers of a depression in the road after making delivery of heavy equipment last week.

"We're making repairs as quickly as possible and we're glad that water service hasn't been affected," said Executive Director Shannon Williams, "but our thoughts are with nearby residents. They've been through a lot recently."

Workers plan to have the sinkhole repaired by the end of the day with a full street restoration to take place once demolition work at the church is complete.Capital Region Water completes repairs to water main break and sinkhole
