Car strikes gas meter in Mount Pleasant Twp., Adams Co.

A portion of Whitehall Road in Mount Pleasant Township, Adams County will be shut down for 6-8 hours, while crews repair a gas meter.

On Wednesday morning a car struck the high pressure gas meter in the 1200 block of Whitehall Road. The road is closed between Bulk Plant Road and Feaser Road.

Officials tell CBS 21 that one home has been evacuated but there are 15-20 homes that are affected. Columbia Gas of PA is offering to pay for hotel rooms for those affected.
