Carlisle -- A charity car auction raised more than $27,000 for The Salvation Army.

Local dealerships donated select cars and then Carlisle Events teamed up with the Harrisburg Auto Auction to make the event happen.

The money raised will help The Salvation Army provide food and shelter for those in need in the mid-state.

“The salvation army is always behind the scenes.  You never see them out in the forefront,” commented Bill Miller of Carlisle Events.  “As I got involved with The Salvation Army and saw the need that was in our general area I realized they need money throughout the summer, not just during kettle season.”

This is the 10th year for the charity car auction.
