HARRISBURG -- Comcast has teamed up with the Harrisburg City School District to let financially strapped parents know that affordable internet is an option.

The program is called "Internet Essentials," and it allows low-income families across the nation to have internet access and a computer in their home at a fraction of the cost.

The program has helped 1,600 families in the Harrisburg area over the last three years, and officials say 19,000 families in the area are eligible for the program.
