A Dauphin County man is facing charges after allegedly setting fire to a home in Swatara Township.

David Scott Jorich, 56, is accused of setting fire to the home, which then caused significant damage to a neighboring home.

Early Saturday morning, firefighters were called to the home in the 700 block of Mohn Street, for a report of a structure fire.

When officers arrived they found the home engulfed in flames. According to court documents, the fire also spread to the home next door, causing more damage.

Court documents state that Jorich was spotted across the street from the fire and was not wearing any shoes or socks. Jorich allegedly told police he didn't know what happened because he was asleep. According to court documents, another officer approached Jorich later and asked if he had set a fire to keep warm, and Jorich said yes.

Police say Jorich also appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
