HARRISBURG -- A Dauphin County supervisor has been convicted of theft, and will now likely lose his elected position.

Jay Brandt, Supervisor for Conewago Township, was convicted of theft after stealing 16 sheep from his neighbor.  Brandt sold the animals for over $1,000 and sent the money to his sister.

Dauphin County Court sentenced him to a $50 fine and court costs.

The PA Constitution prevents anyone convicted of an infamous cable, such as theft, from holding public office.

For that reason, the District Attorneys Office will file an action to remove Brandt from his position as supervisor.  Dauphin County township supervisor stole 16 sheep, now will likely lose his public office
