Family of five displaced in York County fire

UPDATE: An effort is being made to help a family that lost their home in a fire Friday morning.

The home in the 100 block of Walmar Manor was a total loss, Franklintown and Community Fire Company said in a news release.

The family is now seeking clothing and monetary donations.

Here is a list of items the family needs:

-Boy's 2T-3T clothing
-Girl's 3T clothing
-Boy's size 7 clothing
-Women's S-L shirts and
-Women's size 8-11 pants
-Men's M-L shirts
-Men's 30-32" waist jeans
-Women's size 7.5-8 shoe
-Men's size 10 shoe
-Household goods (dishes, pots and pans, furniture, etc.)
-Children's toys, books, etc.
-Toiletries

The fire company is accepting donations at their station at 107 S. Baltimore Street Franklintown on Sunday from 6 AM to 5 PM.  They are accepting items that are new or used in good condition.


DILLSBURG -- A family of five was displaced from their home, which is a total loss, after a fire around 11 a.m. Friday morning.

Departments from seven fire companies responded to the fire in the Walmar Manor Trailer Park off Franklin Church Road, Franklin Township, York County. 

The family was home at the time of the fire and one member sought medical care. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Family of five displaced in York County fire
