DALLASTOWN -- A former Dallastown teacher has been charged for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old female student over the past four years.

Christopher Boyer was a 7th grade math teacher at Dallastown Area Middle School. The victim was one of his students in 2009, when she was 13.

According to police, the abuse happened when the two were alone in the school and on trips. In some instances there was sexual touching and in others police say Boyer gave the victim his phone and told her to take nude pictures of herself, which she did.

At one point, according to court papers, Boyer told the girl, we “should (edited) sometime.” Boyer has not been a teacher since earlier this year. He denies all the allegations against him.

One of Boyer's neighbors, Danny Moye, said, "It really does (shock me) because he just seemed like a good, decent guy."

The 28-year-old faces a slew of charges including institutional sexual assault and possession of child porn.  He is scheduled to be in court Oct. 22.

Neither the school nor Boyer’s lawyer would comment.
