Funeral service set for local soldier killed in Afghanistan

LANCASTER -- The funeral service for a fallen local Soldier will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday at Wesley Church in Quarryville, Pa., followed by burial at the Quarryville Cemetery. 

Staff Sgt. Patrick H. Quinn was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group Airborne. Quinn was killed in action in Afghanistan Oct. 13. A Green Beret, Quinn joined the Army in 2006. 

Gov. Tom Corbett today ordered all United States and Pennsylvania flags in the Capitol Complex and at commonwealth facilities in Lancaster County lowered to half-staff on Saturday, Oct. 26, in Quinn's honor.

Flags are to remain at half-staff until sunset on the day of Quinn’s burial in Lancaster County. Both the U.S. and Pennsylvania flags should be flown at full-staff on Sunday.
