Hanover man charged in Maryland attempted murder

CARROLL COUNTY, MD -- A Hanover man has been charged with attempted first-degree murder after he allegedly tried to strangle a woman with a phone cord after breaking into her home.

Jeffrey Allan Hacker Sr., 50, of Hanover, Pa., is also charged with reckless endangerment, stalking, malicious destruction of property, first- and second-degree assault, and first- and fourth-degree burglary.
