Reported by Ewa Roman:

HARRISBURG -- Thousands of people are hitting the streets of Harrisburg tonight for the start of St. Patrick's Day weekend.

While catching up with some of them CBS 21 ran into Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse, who was in the St. Patty's Day spirit, while attending a fundraiser downtown.

"The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick’s were just having an event at Federal Taphouse to help raise money for the city beautiful fund, so we are very excited about that. Kicking off Patty's day festivities," said Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse.

"Come down, enjoy the parade, drink a lot obviously," stated Curtis Brillhart, Camp Hill resident.

"I have been to the parade I like the parade, it's a good time," commented Shannon Olivetti, Mechanicsburg resident.

The St. Patrick's Day parade in Harrisburg is March 22.
