MIDDLETOWN -- A Middletown man is in jail on charges that he slept with an underage boy, despite knowing he was HIV-positive.

Michael Minium II, 37, was charged Oct. 4 with two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years old, one count of statutory sexual assault, one count of corruption of minors, one count of unalwful contact with a minor, one count of reckless endangerment, one count of aggravated assault, one count of photographing a child sex act and one count possession of child pornography.

According to the charging documents, Minium first had unprotected sexual contact with the boy, who lived with him, in January 2011. The boy, now 17, has lived with Minium since he was 15.

The boy told police he knew Minium was HIV-positive and that Minium did not use protection during their sexual encounters.

While executing a search warrant at the house, police found an envelope filled with Polaroid photos of another 17-year-old boy, whom Minium admitted was an ex-boyfriend whom he had begun having sexual relations with the boy when the boy was 15.

Minium is currently in Dauphin County Prison, unable to post bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 20.HIV-positive man charged for having sex with underage boys
