HERSHEY -- The Hyundai 'Hope On Wheels' event, held Thursday at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center, gave a $250,000 grant to Dr. Barbara Miller for her work on researching new treatments for pediatric cancers.

The event also gave children, who are patients at Penn State Hershey, the chance to leave their hand prints on a Hyundai Santa Fe. The tiny, colorful marks represent the small victims' brave battles with cancer.

September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Hyundai Hope On Wheels will donate a total of $10.25 million to support 42 pediatric cancer research projects at Children's Oncology Group member institutions across the country.

By year-end 2013, Hope On Wheels will have donated more than $72 million to pediatric cancer institutions since its beginning in 1998. 'Hope on Wheels' event marks $250K donation to pediatric cancer research
