Hundreds traveled to Berks County Sunday afternoon to pay respects to a little girl whose life has touched millions.

As rain fell, an outpour of support around the world for a family in West Reading, who lost their little girl on Christmas Day.

That's when 8-year-old Laney Brown took her last breath after a seven month fight with leukemia.

"The rain could be heaven is crying because they have taken an angel from earth and brought her home," said Jacob Nordsick who attended the public viewing.

As eyes swell and words interrupt thought, hugs offer comfort outside of the Kuhn Funeral Home. Embraced hands keep couples and parents themselves from falling apart.

The sorrow continues for parents everywhere whose souls weep in sympathy. But through the despair, Laney's legacy is living on. Because as much as some parents hurt, they allowed the spirit of a fun-loving child to warm them.

All guests were asked to wear bright, vibrant colors in honor of Laney's love for fashion.

Laney was a pillar of inspiration, and a bright spot in darkness. There were some tears, some upsetting moments, but there was also a bit of joy as people reflected on the legacy and inspiration Laney Brown was able to share worldwide.

People were asked to write letters on red hearts to share hope and show support for the Brown family.

Those will be given to the family at a private balloon release in the near future.Hundreds attend public viewing for Laney Brown
