Lancaster pair charged in bank robbery

Two men from Lancaster County are facing charges in connection to a bank robbery on November 7, 2013.

Charges were filed against Kyle Costello, 27, and Matthew Hill, 29, both of Lancaster. Both men were charged with conspiracy to commit armed bank robbery, armed bank robbery, carrying and using a firearm during and in retaliation to a crime of violence, and aiding and abetting.  Hill is also charged with attempted bank robbery.

According to the indictment, the defendants allegedly robbed the National Penn Bank on Lancaster Pike in Shillington. The pair allegedly robbed the bank at gunpoint.

Officials say Hill allegedly tried to rob the Susquehanna Bank on East Market Street in York, on December 6, 2013.

If convicted the defendants face a maximum possible sentence of life in prison, with a mandatory minimum sentence of seven years consecutive to any other sentence imposed, and a fine of up to $1million.
