A Lancaster County woman has died as a result of injuries she sustained in a crash on Christmas Eve.

The two vehicle crash happened at Prospect Road and Concordia Road in West Hempfield Township. Police say a GMC Acadia SUV driven by G Elizabeth Gestewitz, 79, of Lancaster pulled out from a stop sign on Concordia Road and into the path of a tractor trailer driven by Bradley Pugh, 23, of Ohio.

Police say Pugh was unable to stop the tractor and trailer and struck the driver's side of Gestewitz's vehicle causing it to spin counter clockwise into an adjacent field.  Police say Gestewitz and Pugh were wearing seatbelts and were not injured.

A passenger in Gestewitz's vehicle, Anna Rentschler, 84, of Lancaster, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.  Police say Rentschler did not appear to be wearing a seatbelt. She died from her injuries on January 3rd.

Police say speed or alcohol were not factors in the collision.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information related to the crash is asked to call
Officer Ryan Draper of the West Hempfield Township Police Department at 285-5191 or 800-957-2677.
