Man assaulted by handgun in Palmyra

Palmyra Police are searching for a man who they say assaulted a man.

Police say on Thursday night just before 11 p.m., they responded to a reports of a gunshot in the first block of South College Street.

After investigating, police say a 38-year-old Palmyra man was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint. Police believe he was beaten with a handgun.

The gun did go off but the victim was not struck.

Police confirm money and identification cards were taken from the victim.

He was taken to a medical center for treatment. Right now, the victim has non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the suspect they are searching for is a Hispanic male, around 6-feet-tall with a thin build and a tribal tattoo on his neck.
