A man has been charged in the shooting death of his 2-month-old daughter.

Lancaster County District Attorney Craig Stedman says the girl's father, G. Scott Davis, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Kestyn was shot in the abdomen on Christmas Eve at a home in the 2100 block of Old Philadelphia Pike in East Lampeter Township.

Stedman says Davis told police he was "messing" with gun when it went off and hit the infant.

"He's begged God to turn back the hands of time," said Jeff Conrad, the attorney representing Davis.  Conrad says his client accepts responsibility and will enter a guilty plea.

Sentencing guidelines are 9-18 months in prison. But the district attorney says, "I doubt any punishment would match his internal grief."

Davis is also facing charges of reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child. Man charged for shooting death of 2-month-old girl
