New PA law will allow doctors to say 'I'm sorry'

A new law in PA will let doctors say, "I'm sorry."

Governor Corbett signed a billed to let health care professionals have a conversation after a bad outcome, without worrying that the statement can be used against them in a lawsuit.

The legislation was championed by Senator Pat Vance. She said this was eight years in the making

Thirty-six states and the District of Columbia have provisions allowing medical professionals to make apologies or sympathetic gestures.

The new law will go into effect in 60 days.      New PA law will allow doctors to say 'I'm sorry'
