Nine schools in Central PA on list of worst performing schools

Updated: Friday, October 18 2013, 09:47 AM CDT
Nine of the worst performing schools in the state are right here in the Susquehanna Valley.

The Department of Education released its list of the worst performing schools in the state on Wednesday.  These schools will get help under the state's waiver from the 'No Child Left Behind Law'.

Schools are determined on elements like test scores and whether they get federal aid for high concentration of low income students.

Area schools on the list include Harrisburg High School, Camp Curtin, Foose, Rowland and Scott Schools.

In the Lancaster School District, Price Elementary and Wheatland Middle School are on the list.

In the York City School District, McKinley School and William Penn High are on the list.
