ADAMS COUNTY -- PennDOT is planning on making major repairs to a 15-mile section of Route 15 southbound from near the Hunterstown interchange to the PA/MD state line in Adams County.

This section of Route 15 South averages just under 10,000 vehicles traveled daily.

The repair includes shoulder replacement, roadway base repair, concrete pavement patching and repair, concrete bridge work, guard rail and sign installation and new lines on the roadway.

PennDOT warns travelers that from March 17 through the fall, they will encounter a long-term, around-the-clock single-lane restriction.  That restriction could last up to eight miles at a time.

Work is expected to be completed by the end of 2015.

Drivers are asked to be alert, obey work zone signs, and to slow down when approaching and traveling through work zones.
