State Police say the road rage incident on I-81 is not related to an incident that occurred 7 hours earlier in Carroll Township, York County.

On Saturday, 28-year-old Timothy Davison of Poland, Maine, was gunned down after a truck ran him off of I-81 into the median in Franklin County.  Officials say Davison made several calls to 911 dispatchers between Interstate 70 in Maryland and mile marker 3 in Antrim Township, Franklin County. Davison shot several times.

"There is no indication the victim provoked the incident," said Steven Junkin the Troop Commander for Pennsylvania State Police Troop H.

State Police say the suspect vehicle is described as a dark colored Ford Ranger XLT. The truck could possibly have damage to the front driver's side. The driver of the vehicle is most likely a male.  The task force has sent out an advisory to all body shops and dealerships in the area.

State Police officials have created a task force comprised of State Police from Maryland, West Virginia State Police, the FBI, the Franklin County District Attorney's Office and the Franklin County Coroner's Office.

On Thursday, State Police were contacted by Kentucky State Police about an incident that happened a few months ago, where a police officer was ambushed as he cleared debris from the road. Police say there is nothing to suggest the two incidents are linked.

Police strongly believe someone in the Tri-State area will have information that will lead them to a suspect. Junkin said they believe the pickup truck was observed by several motorists on I-81 between Interstate 70 in Maryland and Exit 10 in Franklin County.

Anyone with information is asked to call the I-81 Homicide Task Force at 1-800-472-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.

"Will this person do it again? We don't know. We don't want to take that chance. Law enforcement officers in all three states are taking steps to ensure that doesn't happen." Junkin said. "We are working tirelessly to make sure we get this person and get him off the road quickly." Police: I-81 road rage shooting not connected to incident in York Co.
