East Lampeter Township Police are investigating after pictures surfaced of two Conestoga Valley High School students holding a BB gun in school.

Police say a 15-year-old male and 14-year-old female were  in photos on social media sites, posing with a handgun in the school. The two students were immediately isolated from the other students, police say. Officials determined the gun, which was a plastic BB gun, was no longer in the school.

Police say there is no information of any hostile intent or intent to harm anyone. The BB pistol was a replica of a Beretta 92F handgun and did not have orange markings, police say.

The students were removed
from school pending further investigation and disciplinary action by
school officials. Both students are charged with one count of possession of weapons on school property, and one count of sale and use of air rifles.

The 14-year-old girl was taken to Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center on the charges. The 15-year-old male remains in the custody of his parents.
