Police investigate several cases of identity theft in Southern York County

Southern Regional Police are investigating several cases of identity thefts, fraud, and theft of mail from mailboxes.

Police say the suspect(s) stole mail from mailboxes and used the information on the  mail to open credit cards, make purchases, use existing credit cards, use checks, and file federal income taxes under the victims' social security numbers.

Police are asking residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious behavior to 911. They are also urging residents to remove mail from their mailboxes as soon as possible.
