Preparations underway for 98th PA Farm Show

Updated: Wednesday, January 1 2014, 07:07 PM CST
In Harrisburg, exhibitors are setting up for the 98th Pennsylvania Farm Show, which kicks off this weekend.

On Wednesday, stalls were being prepared for cattle and other animals.

Those setting up say the farm show is not just a great way for the ag business to network , but way to show how important it is to Pennsylvania. "Just presenting Pennsylvania agriculture, it is as far as I know
Pennsylvania's number one industry, and it's a dying breed because of
small family farms now too," said Luke Lichtenwalner.

"With us
talking to the public about them coming in and asking us about our
cattle and everything, we give them a view of what we do in our daily
lives and how much it calls for," Marshall Allison tells us.

On Thursday, this year's butter sculpture will be revealed. The food court will be open on Friday starting at noon and then the show kicks off officially on Saturday. Preparations underway for 98th PA Farm Show
