YORK -- A special election will take place in March for voters to fill a seat left vacant by a York County state senator.

Republican Sen. Mike Waugh resigned from his position on Sunday after being a senator since 1998.

CBS 21 spoke with him at the Farm Show complex today, where he has a new position as director. He says he made the move for professional and personal reasons.

“I’ve been on the Farm Show committees, at the farm show,” Waugh said.

Waugh had previously announced he was not running for another term in this year's election.
