Several dog breeding kennels in Central PA cited

Updated: Wednesday, October 30 2013, 06:19 PM CDT
Several dozen commercial dog breeding kennels, operating illegally in PA, have been cited.

According to a report released by the Office of Dog Law on Wednesday, thirty-one illegal kennels were cited, five kennels were refused licenses and two kennels had their licenses revoked.

The office says this is just one of several accomplishments made this year, by the department in an effort to combat puppy mills and protect the well-being of dogs here in the state.

Right now, there are only 57 commercial kennels in operation, that's down from 300, and dog wardens have conducted over 3,700 inspections.
