Northern Lebanon School District is investigating after a threat was posted on social media on Thursday morning.

The superintendent was informed around 7 a.m. of a social media post concerning a bomb threat and shooting Thursday in the middle school.

School officials contacted State Police and immediately three troopers arrived at the school and began investigating.  Their investigation involved the student who made the threat, according to a letter sent to parents.

At the same time, a search of the school and the grounds occurred before school began, and nothing suspicious was found.

Northern Lebanon is the latest in numerous reports of school threats in Lebanon County.  Superintendent Dr. Don Bell says that “students who engage in this type of inappropriate behavior, disruptive and prohibited activities or actions with intent to cause injury to others shall be disciplined promptly and appropriately.”

The discipline could include expulsion from school.

The superintendent asks parents to discuss with children the danger of issuing a threat against the school.  Student posts threat against Northern Lebanon school on social media
