Philadelphia -- In Philadelphia, two state lawmakers introduced a bill that would legalize gay marriage in the Keystone State.

Democratic Representatives Brian Sims and Steve McCarter talked about the bill Thursday morning at Love Park.

“In the vast majority of Pennsylvania, I can be kicked out of a bar, I can be kicked out of a restaurant, I can be denied housing and I can be denied employment,” stated Rep. Sims.  “What this bill does is it recognizes a fundamental right in our Constitution that all people in the United States will be treated equally.”

Similar bills have gone nowhere in the Republican-controlled Senate.

Right now, PA's law defines marriage as being between one man and one woman.
