HARRISBURG -- On the afternoon of Christmas, parents and children flocked to a Harrisburg bar to get a taste of the Christmas spirit thanks to two women who share a joy of the holiday season.

SDs Lounge along Wiconisco Street in Harrisburg turned the bar into a buffet to feed needy families on Wednesday afternoon, while children were allowed to pick out a toy of their choice.

Camille Bennett helped raise the money, along with several friends and family, for food and gifts to donate to the children.

“I believe that every child on Earth, no matter where, should have some sort of tradition they value and look forward to every year,” said Bennett.

Diamond Colbert, 8, was one of the recipients of the donations. She along with her mother benefited from the charitable act.

“It’s really enlightening,” said Angela Colbert. “Even though all the crime and the sad things going on, it shows us God is good and we’re fortunate to be here.”

More than 100 families showed up to the event. Two sisters host charitable event for needy families on Christmas
