Two Waynesboro men arrested after attempting to steal automotive equipment

Two Waynesboro men are facing charges after allegedly attempting to steal automotive equipment. On Sunday, Washington Township Police were called to a report of suspicious activity in the 5100 block of Buchanan Trail East.

A caller told police he saw two males behind the business, taking automotive parts.

Waynesboro Police were in the area and intercepted the males while they were trying to leave the business, a press release said. Police say the males allegedly tried to leave in a truck loaded with automotive parts.

Police arrested James Shifflett Sr., 42, and James Shifflett Jr., 21.   Shifflett Sr. was charged with theft and aiding in the planning of a crime.  Shifflett Jr. was charged with theft, aiding in the planning of a crime and possession of marijuana.
