Reported by: Kyle Rogers

MIDDLESEX -- A gas station clerk was stabbed in the neck Monday morning at a Gulf Gas Station in Cumberland County.

Police say just after 10 a.m., a man jumped the counter at the store along the Harrisburg Pike. The man took off with an unknown amount of cash before stabbing the cashier in the neck.

Crews spent the late morning and early afternoon hours at the gas station as they investigated. The Gulf remained closed for several hours on Monday.

Detective Gerald Steigleman of Middlesex Township Police said the clerk locked himself in the backroom while he called 911, and then was taken to Hershey Medical Center. Steigleman did not release the victims name or condition.

After the investigation, officers located Anthony G. Simmons of Duncannon, Perry County, at his home. He was arrested without incident and charged with strong-arm robbery, aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit homicide and conspiracy to commit larceny.
