UPDATE: Police investigating a fifth copper pipe theft in Lemoyne

LEMOYNE -- West Shore Regional police are investigating yet another recent copper pipe theft and burglary.

The latest incident occurred on Wednesday, March 12 around 7:30 PM in the 500 Block of S. 3rd Street.  Officers arrived to find the door open and all the small diameter copper piping used for the residential water system had been removed.

This incident may be linked to the previous residential burglaries.  West Shore Police are asking for the communities help in solving these crimes.

According to police, between Feb 6 and 20, 2014, a vacant home in the 800 block of Hummel Avenue was forcibly entered through the rear door and a small quantity of copper pipe was removed from the furnace and water supply system in the  basement. 

Also taken was a brass water control valve from the furnace.

On Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 the West Shore Regional Police was dispatched to the 600 block of Bosler Avenue in Lemoyne for a report of a burglary and learned that the house is currently vacant and listed for sale. 

According to police, the victim arrived to find that someone had forcibly entered the residence and removed all the copper piping in the basement.

On Friday, February 28, 2014 around 1:50 pm, West Shore Regional Police Officers responded to the 300 block of Herman Avenue for a report of a burglary incident. 

Officers learned that sometime between Feb. 19 and 28, 2014, unknown person(s) kicked in the back door of this vacant property and removed copper pipe. As a result of this theft water was left running in the basement.

Later on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 at 9:35 pm officers went to a vacant residence in the 400 block of Herman Avenue in Lemoyne for another reported burglary incident. 

Police say that sometime between Friday, Feb. 21 and 28, 2014, unknown person(s) entered the residence and removed several pieces of cooper pipe also causing water damage in the basement.

Officers would like to remind everyone to keep an eye on each other’s property and be vigilant about your surroundings.
