WINTERSTOWN -- In York County people gathered today to pay their final respects to a firefighter who was killed on Christmas Eve while jogging.

The funeral for 24-year-old Cory Haley was held this morning at the Winterstown United Methodist Church.

Haley volunteered at the North Hopewell Wintersville Volunteer Fire Co. He received a Firefighter of the Year award in 2012 from the state House of Representatives.

Haley was wearing a reflective band across his body and headphones when he was hit by the car.

The North Hopewell Wintersville Volunteer Fire Co. is asking for donations to help Haley’s family get a headstone in his honor.

If you would like to help, donations can be mailed to: NHWVFC, marked "For Cory Haley", 12246 Winterstown Road, Felton PA 17322.
