WEST HEMPFIELD -- A Lancaster County woman learned the hard way not to start her car and leave it running, unattended.

Around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, West Hempfield Township Police responded to a business in the 3700 block of Hempland Road just off of Stony Battery Road for a theft of a vehicle.

The female victim told police she had started her vehicle to allow it to warm up and went back into the business. While it was running, a male suspect walked onto the property from the parking lot of Rutter's and stole the vehicle. The vehicle left the business east on Hempland Road at a high rate of speed.

The attached photograph of the suspect was taken from video security cameras at the Rutter's nearby.

Police are asking the public for assistance in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information about the suspect can contact police at (717)285-5191.
