YORK -- The stolen 100 pound prized pumpkin a York County boy won in a contest, has had the pumpkin returned to him.

After being out of town for the weekend, Jaiden Newcomer, 9, came home to find the stolen pumpkin back on his porch, complete with an apology note.

The note said, "I'm really sorry about taking your pumpkin, it was wrong of me, you earned the pumpkin, I didn't think my actions through nor realize who they were affecting."

After watching the CBS 21 News report about the stolen pumpkin, the owner of Ashcombe Farm and Greenhouse near Mechanicsburg decided she wanted to help Jaiden out. On Friday, they invited Jaiden out to let him pick out any pumpkin he wanted.

Jaiden also received a call from Capehorn Beverage, where he originally got his first pumpkin, and they plan to donate another pumpkin to him on Monday.

CBS 21 News spoke to Jaiden's mother, Amy Newcomer Sunday night and she said now that Jaiden has the original pumpkin back, her son wants to "pay it forward" and is thinking about giving away the other pumpkins donated to him.
