LANCASTER -- The Lancaster Barnstormers have signed outfielder Bobby Kielty to a 2014 contract, the team announced.

Kielty, 37, retired from baseball two years ago while playing for the York Revolution. He has a career average of .254 in the majors with 53 home runs for the Twins, A's and Red Sox.

“Bobby gives us a veteran presence in the lineup,” said manager Butch Hobson in a statement.  “He’s a plus outfielder and a bat from both sides of the plate.  He’s healthy and wants to give it another go.”

In addition, the Barnstormers re-signed outfielder Jeremy Williams, who ended the 2013 season with Lancaster.
